Prenatal visits during your pregnancy

Our journey together begins with an intake interview. I’ll come to your home to meet you and if possible your partner. This casual meeting helps us get to know each other and determine if we’re a good match.
In our prenatal sessions, we’ll delve into your ideas, fears, and hopes for your birth experience. We’ll explore how you handle challenges and unexpected situations, and I’ll guide you in crafting or refining your birth plan.
We’ll cover topics like managing labor pain, both through medical and natural methods. We’ll discuss the stages of labor and how to recognize when it begins. Together, we’ll practice physical techniques for comfort during labor, such as touch, massage, pressure, and birthing positions. Not every method works for everyone, so practicing in advance ensures we have an adaptable toolbox ready to support you during birth.
Throughout these sessions, my goal is to help you feel prepared for your birth journey. We’ll focus on building confidence in your body and instincts. If you have a partner, they’ll be actively involved so that you can approach the birth as a united team.

During labor and birth
From week 37 of your pregnancy, I’ll be on call for you 24/7, ready to provide support whenever labor begins. We can stay in regular contact during this time to address any questions or concerns you may have.
Once labor starts, you can call me, and I’ll join you as soon as you feel ready for my presence. From that point, I’ll remain by your side throughout the labor, birth, and the first few hours afterward.
During labor, my support is tailored to your preferences. Whether you want someone by your side offering encouragement or would like space with your partner, I’ll adapt to your needs. My role is to be a calming, grounding presence, no matter how your birth unfolds.
If your birth becomes medical or requires a hospital transfer, I’ll stay with you to ensure continuity and provide reassurance. If you’re already in the hospital, I’ll be a constant support while the medical team may change shifts.
We can revisit and try the techniques we practiced during prenatal sessions or adapt as needed to what feels right in the moment.
Should you wish, I can bring my camera to capture special moments according to your preferences.
Post partum check-ins

During the postpartum period, I’ll check in to see how you’re doing and provide support as you adjust to life with your baby. In the first week after birth, I’ll make a brief visit to see how everything is going. If you have questions or need resources, I’m here to help, whether it’s about baby care, feeding, or connecting with trusted professionals like lactation consultants.
About five or six weeks after the birth, once you’ve had time to settle into your new family dynamic, I’ll visit for a longer postpartum session. During this time, we’ll reflect on your birth experienc, processing both the joys and any challenges you faced. I’ll share the timeline of events I recorded during your labor and birth, which can help you piece together details you may have missed while in your birth-bubble. This time is about celebrating your strength, answering lingering questions, and supporting your emotional and physical recovery as you embrace this new chapter of life.
